Morley Meadow Primary School

Safeguarding

At Morley Meadow Primary, we are committed to our moral and statutory duty to the safeguarding and welfare of all children. Our caring, sensitive and considered approach ensures all children feel supported, listened to and know that their welfare is of the upmost importance.

All staff and volunteers have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm, and ensuring a child’s welfare is paramount. Any adult who has contact with our children has been properly vetted and deemed suitable to work and support children. They are trained to undertake their safeguarding responsibilities effectively. They are highly vigilant and quick to report any concerns they have about a child's well-being. Children know they can talk about their worries to an adult they trust.

At Morley Meadow Primary, we will always talk with parents if concerns have been noted and will keep them informed should we feel it is necessary for us to report these concerns to another agency.

Key Documents and Sources of Information

Morley Meadow Primary and the Westcountry Schools Trust fully recognises its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to work together with other agencies to ensure adequate arrangements within our school to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm.  We also follow safer recruitment practices when appointing new staff and volunteers. Our staff undertake annual training in this area to ensure the welfare and safety of our children remains paramount.

We have a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy that applies to all staff, governors and volunteers working in the school.
