ICT is all around us and everyday we use Technology to enhance our learning, find information, or for fun. At Dunstone it is important that the children use ICT to enhance their learning journeys in a fun, safe and secure environment.
The children learn and use skills in ICT across all areas of the curriculum, but also have time to reflect and consider the importance of internet safety and appropriate use. As teachers and parents there are many ways we can help our children and understand the technological world we live in.
Think You Know is a great Guide to internet safety and safe surfing for young people, and is divided into different sections depending on your child's age.
At Dunstone all computers and children's profiles are equipped with "Hector" the safety dolphin who helps the children - by clicking on the dolphin he covers the complete screen if the child is unhappy with what has appeared on their screen while on the internet. This can also be downloaded for home use, and details can be found at Hector's World
Remember to teach your children the SMART way to use the latest ever-changing technology.
